SUNNYVALE, CA–(Marketwire – September 17, 2009) – Stretch Inc., the pioneer and leader in software configurable processors, and UDP, a leading provider of high performance video solutions for the surveillance industry, today announced availability of UDP’s latest product, the HP4000EX PCIe DVR capture card. The HP4000EX is a 16-channel H.264 card providing video and audio capture, real-time display and hardware compression features, with built-in video analytics using the PCIe interface with multi-card support. This model is designed to ensure FCC / CE Class B certification, thereby facilitating emissions compliance for DVR constructors. “UDP has built an enviable reputation for delivering high performance, high-quality products backed with a strong OEM policy. Stretch processor solutions are a natural fit for our capture card product range, adding significant capability by enabling us to offer our partners a high-density H.264 solution with excellent video quality combined with video analytics. In addition, and for the first time, we are able to provide an H.264 SVC option,” said James Ahn, president of UDP. The HP4000EX card is supplied with a highly efficient video content analysis software package to provide DVR designers with advanced features such as ‘a self-learning tracking algorithm,’ ‘camera attack detection,’ and ‘camera shake [...]

SUNNYVALE, CA–(Marketwire – July 7, 2009) – Leadis Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: LDIS), an analog and mixed-signal semiconductor developer of LED drivers, today announced sample availability of the LDS8680/81 and LDS8640/41, four new inductorless, dual-output LED flash/lamp drivers in low profile (0.8mm), space-saving 2x3mm TDFN packages. Targeted at camera-enabled handsets and digital still cameras, the LDS8680/81 and LDS8640/41 drive up to 800mA and 400mA, respectively, from a single Lithium-Ion battery. The LDS8680/81 and LDS8640/41 offer multiple advantages for system designers. For longer battery life, the efficiency is increased up to 90% in torch mode by the inclusion of Leadis’ proprietary PowerLite™ Current Regulator. Simple and flexible controls in these new drivers make the system design easier. LED currents can be factory pre-programmed from 52mA to 400mA per channel eliminating the need for any external components. The two output channels can be operated independently; for example, one as the primary camera flash and the other for red-eye reduction. The on-chip automatic flash time-out can be programmed to either 250 or 500ms. In addition it is possible to realize a complete camera flash solution using the LDS8680/81 (or LDS8640/41) with only three external capacitors and no external resistors, resulting in both reduced board [...]
