PMA Canada Photo Expo 2010 Touts Education, Hot New Products; Welcomes Photo Enthusiasts

JACKSON, Mich. – The PMA Canada Photo Expo consistently features top-notch educational seminars, product training by suppliers, keynote speakers, and a two-day product show for trade members to learn about the latest in photo imaging technology.
New this year for the PMA Canada Photo Expo 2010 show, September 11-13, 2010, at the Toronto Congress Centre, Toronto, Ontario, will be the first-ever opportunity for photo enthusiasts to attend the show.

“This year, photo enthusiasts are invited to the show Saturday, Sept. 11, and Sunday, Sept. 12,” says Bob Moggach, director, PMA Canadian Activities. “While admission at the door is $20, enthusiasts can acquire free passes in several ways – through their local photo retailers or exhibitors’ website links to the Photo Expo registration page (containing codes to register electronically for free passes).” Exhibiting firms may be advertising the codes for a free pass online and also via the Photo Expo consumer web page.

New this year, the Professional Photographers of Canada, Ontario Division, will provide training for their members and new associates. All attendees will benefit from educational tracks with seminars covering the hot new products for 2010-2011, including plenty of new techniques from award-winning photographers and artists to enhance the skills and services of studio, sports, and event photographers.

The solid lineup of presenters includes youth sports photographer Jeff Gump, Gump’s Sports Photography, Sept. 11, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.; lighting tips expert James Ogilvie, Avicdar Photography, on Sept. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.; and nature/wildlife and travel photographer Ethan Meleg, Ethan Meleg Outdoor Photography, on Sept. 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Photo retailers will learn the latest industry trends from John Stevenson, Fujifilm Canada Inc., and Mark Haar, The NPD Group Inc.,Sunday, Sept. 12, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Also, William J. McCurry, McCurry Associates, will reveal the PMA Retailer Hot Picks, Sept. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Selected buyers will scour the trade show floor prior to the session and inform attendees on their thoughts of hot sellers for the upcoming holiday season.
