WOODBURY, N.Y.–(BUSINESS WIRE) — The Photoimaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA) today announced that its board of directors has elected Joellyn Gray as president. Ms. Gray is the director of marketing for FUJIFILM’s Imaging Division, and will lead the PMDA’s mission of promoting imaging and providing a forum to involve member companies in charting the industry’s future.
In her role at FUJIFILM, Ms. Gray is responsible for consumer insight research, retailer marketing support and consumer programs designed to motivate digital printing at retail. Ms. Gray was a driving force behind the PMDA’s 2009 “Portraits of Love” project, which connected professional photographers nationwide with military families, whose loved ones were serving overseas, to send free family portraits to the deployed soldiers for the holidays. In addition to FUJIFILM, Ms. Gray has also held marketing positions at Xerox Engineering Systems, JP Morgan, Cadbury Schweppes, Dannon and Kraft Foods. Ms. Gray holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Yale University.
“The PMDA has a long and rich tradition of serving the photo industry, and I’m extremely honored to serve as president of this prestigious organization,” said Ms. Gray. “The mass acceptance of digital technology and the creativity that it enables is creating substantial new opportunity in the market. My goal is to provide a stimulating forum for manufacturers and distributors in the photo industry to discuss new technologies, emerging consumer behavior and business opportunity. It is an exciting time to be in the photo industry and the PMDA genuinely reflects the industry’s new spirit of possibility.”
In conjunction with Ms. Gray’s election, the PMDA also announced additional changes to its board of directors. The organization’s outgoing president, Jerry Grossman, editor-in-chief of Photo Industry Reporter, will now serve as PMDA executive director. Serving as vice presidents are: Mark Huggins, executive director, brand marketing at Olympus, Anthony Ruotolo, associate publisher of American Photo and Popular Photography at Bonnier Corporation, and Dan Unger, vice president of marketing at Cameo Style.
