APRIL 8, 2010 - JACKSON, Mich. – DIMAcast, a weekly podcast serving the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA), a PMA member association, won a 2010 Bronze ADDY Award for Excellence in Creativity and Execution from the Inland Empire Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), presented at an awards ceremony in March at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside, Calif.
The ADDY Awards is the largest competition in the creative industry, attracting more than 60,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising, graphic design, and web design, as well as in the elements of advertising, illustration, and photography.
The winning episode of the DIMAcast features an interview with Adrian Salamunovic of CanvasPop, a company allowing users to customize and print photos – from any source and of any size or resolution – on canvas.
DIMAcast was launched in 2006 by the DIMA president at the time,Brian Mundy, who is also the podcast host. Each week, DIMAcast presents entertaining and informative interviews conducted by Jennifer Barr Kruger, PMA senior editor, with leading technology companies, best-selling authors, famous photographers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders. In addition, DIMAcast provides a monthly marketing idea exchange featuring Bill McCurry, who travels the world seeking the best new ideas in marketing digital imaging products and services.
DIMAcast, which recently broadcast its 201st weekly episode, reaches a large and constantly growing worldwide audience, extending far beyond the members of DIMA with several thousand downloads each month.
“When I walked into the banquet and saw all the works submitted, I was blown away. These projects were fantastic, and almost all of them were created by professional agencies,” says Mundy. “The ADDY is a highly coveted award; agencies want to win because it adds credibility to their work and helps attract top-notch employees. But I wasn’t shocked we’d won; we put together a very, very good show.
Mundy was delighted to discover both the DIMAcast and the logo he designed for his company, Octane Creative Media, had received an ADDY.
